Our roots in traditional shoemaking began in Asia in 1983, built on more than four decades of hands-on manufacturing experience. In 2001, we established our U.S. headquarters and distribution hub in Southern California with a simple guiding principle: well-crafted, head-turning footwear should never strain your budget or compromise on all-day comfort.
The name Conal is derived from two Chinese characters—康 (health) and 诺 (promise). Together, they reflect the standard we hold ourselves to every day: a promise to look after the comfort and well-being of the people who wear our shoes, and a commitment to stand behind every pair we ship.

In 2020, under next-generation leadership and a dedicated, long-standing California team, we began a thoughtful transformation of our catalog. We committed our collections to 100% cruelty-free, vegan materials—pairing refined synthetic leathers, breathable microfibers, and rich textiles with cushioned memory-foam insoles and flexible rubber outsoles.
By choosing modern, animal-free materials, we are able to experiment with bolder textures and colors while keeping our footwear ethical, easy to maintain, and comfortable straight out of the box.
